TRAINING AGENDA (Day 2)
Day 2 offers expanded discussion of the material covered on day (1) and is strongly recommended for local unions that have employees and payroll or are planning to compensate union officers or members.
The DOL has specific recommendations and requirements when union officers, members, and contractors are paid with union funds. The IRS also has reporting requirements when the union disperses union funds as a tax exempted entity. Failure to properly account for union funds and report the payment of union fund could result in civil and/or criminal charges against local union officers and members.
